This weekend we went down to the ICA in London for the official premiere of Momoko Ando‘s ‘Kakera: A Piece of Our Life’, which the society had already screened last November! The lucky members who attended the event had a one in a lifetime chance to enjoy a nice chat with the director at the after party.

Our very own Michelle Bailey interviewed Momoko as she chats about the experience of directing her first film, and the themes of love and female identity which are central to the film. ‘Kakera: A Piece of Our Life’ is available in the UK on DVD from Third Window Films.

We would like to thank Adam Torel from Third Window Films, without whom this would not have been possible. Spencer Murphy, CUEAFS Founder, said:

“I would just like to pass on my sincere thanks and gratitude to our sponsor Third Window Films for giving the society the opportunity to meet the lovely and very cool Momoko Ando at the premiere of ‘Kakera’ and for looking after us so well.
