To mark the opening of a novelty state-of-the-art screening room in the new Hub building of Coventry University‘s campus, the East Asian Film Society‘s long-term sponsor Terracotta Distribution have generously donated a number of  35mm film prints to CUEAFS for the benefit of the University students.

Terracotta, who have been a major supporter of CUEAFS since its foundation in 2009, have taken an active part in the society’s development by supplying films, promotional material and overall professional advice and encouragement to the students of the Media and Communications Department.

‘One of our aims in setting up Terracotta is to encourage the next generation of film lovers to watch more Far East Films and Coventry University have embraced that”, commented Joey Leung, Managing Director of Terracotta.

Among the donated cinema prints are the South Korean hits ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and ‘Breathless’, which students can now enjoy on the brand new cinema screen in The Hub.

CUEAFS founder Spencer Murphy commented on the act of generosity, naming it a ‘testament to the company’s investment in not only the University, but in the broader appreciation of East Asian film in the UK’:

‘I am immensely proud for our society to be associated with Terracotta, and I know I speak on behalf of all the students in saying a massive thank you, and we look forward to continuing our relationship and with the help of Terracotta CUEAFS can provide even more exciting events at Coventry University.
